Blokk is an interactive multiplayer installation that explores communication and invites participants to engage in a creative dialogue.
The system consists of a vertical screen displaying a grid and 5 joysticks placed in front of it. Each joystick is assigned a color, enabling users to easily identify their different inputs. Participants can choose one (or more) joysticks and contribute to this constantly evolving collective visual composition.
The project uses Arduino to connect joysticks and send movements to Processing, which then visualizes them.
The screen translates the movements of each joystick into simple graphics displayed on a grid.
The aesthetics of the visual composition evoke early pixel-style games, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.
Andreia Rodrigues
Andreia is a multimedia designer who creatively explores the intersection of cultural heritage and digital technologies. She brings a multi-disciplinary approach to her work, using code and immersive elements such as augmented reality and storytelling to create playful and meaningful interactions. She holds a master's degree in Media Design from HEAD-Geneva.
Hugo Langlade
Hugo Langlade (1998*) is a French artist who graduated from HEAD's Master of Media Design program in 2023. By modeling speculative environments in 3D and adding materiality to digital tools, he documents social phenomena and their impact on our perception of reality.
